    The Department of Physics started its activity in June 2016 with all the infra structure and a spacious laboratory for the full strength of 48 students. Physicists play an increasingly important role in the modern world. The skills developed through the study of physics are highly valued in a large number of key Employment sectors, including Energy, Construction, Technology, Communications, Space and Finance.

Infra Structure:

    The Department has good Infra structure with fully equipped Laboratory, spacious class rooms, and the students of the department enjoy easy access to the computerized literature searching library, with Inflib-net facility. A dark room, a store room and an adjacent staff room provide the facilities for the successful completion of the practical under constant supervision of the Staff.

Library:

    The Department library has many books in various branches of Physics and an adequate supply of reference books by a variety of authors in the General library add a conducive atmosphere for the students to learn.

Clean Energy :

         The The clean energy initiative is taken by the department of physics of our college, combines the academic vigour and high standard of the Wavoo institution with a friendly and supportive atmosphere.     

Academic Activities :

     The Physics Association started its activity with a presentation of papers by the Physics students On 22-08-16. The presentation was judged by Mrs. J.Sharmine Mary Janaki, HOD, Information Technology, Mrs. A. Neas Agnes Belintta, HOD, Computer Science and, Dr. Mercy Henry, Director. T. Sibi Chequrana and Golda Angelin shared the I Prize. P. Muthu Pappa and S. Shanthi shared the II Prize.

      A guest lecture was arranged on 21-09-16with the chief guest Mrs. R. Sree Devi MSc., MPhil., B.Ed., Assisstant Professor of Physics, Aditanar College of Arts& Science, Tiruchendur, on the topic “Physics for Physicists”

      The Parent Teachers Association meeting is proposed to be conducted on 25-10-2016.

Programs Offered: :

         The At present the college offers Under graduate course in Physics but the Management has the intention of giving a Post graduate program after the successful completion of the UG Program with an added higher level program later on.     

                     Curriculum- To be adhered to the Affiliating Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Syllabus.
